PARTIAL LOAD (LTL) PLANS OFFERS HIGH EARNINGS AND HOME WEEKLY ROUTES

Our mileage pay is based on actual odometer mileage and for drivers with a hazardous material endorsement they will earn an additional $.0025 per mile for maintaining possessing the proper credentials. The pay packages available include our Full Benefits, Limited Benefits and our NEW Apprentice program for drivers with less than 12 months but more than 6 months of experience. In addition, we will reimburse current drivers for the TSA finger printing and background screening fees.

Driver Pay

Our Partial Load (LTL) plan compensation stands above most in the industry by paying actual mileage right off the odometer and for ALL stops from $10.00 to $40.00 each. Average driver pay for 2007 exceeded $58,500.00 with the highest earning above $83,000 per year. Most importantly all drivers enjoy frequent home time being home at least weekly and depending on load assignment you may be home during the week. Each regional plan also offers a Per Diem option which allows you to defer a portion of your mileage pay as a tax free reimbursement. HIGH EARNINGS & HOME WEEKLY!

Q: How much money can I make with your company the first year of employment?
A:

An experienced driver that is familiar with our lanes can earn above our average of $58,500. A driver experienced with running the Eastern US can reach $65,000 the first year. Our typical driver will have between 8 and 12 stops per week with unload pay which will significantly increase the earnings potential for drivers especially if they are familiar with our premium stop areas.

Q: What other benefits do you offer?
A: We have a wide variety of benefits available to full time coworkers after 90-days of employment. We offer a choice of healthcare benefits through Anthem BC/BS including our Basic Plan which is also a Health Savings Account (HSA) qualified, a Plus Plan, Premium Plan and a Cash-Out option if you have other healthcare coverage. Each plan has different deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket and contribution levels. All full time employees are provided at no cost a $15,000 life insurance policy and Short Term disability. Included in our offering is a wide variety of voluntary insurance benefits – Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life, AD&D and Critical Care.

Q: Is there a 401k with a company match?
A:

Yes there is a 401K plan. We will match 25% of the first 4% contributed in the plan. We offer a full complement of low cost funds from the Fidelity Investments. Eligibility is at 90-days of service and you can make deferral changes quarterly thereafter.

Q: Do you have any dedicated runs or route preferences?
A: We have very few dedicated runs however we frequently assign drivers to run regular trips into certain regions. Although not guaranteed, when a driver does particularly well in one region or the other, we will do our best to keep the driver in that lane. Ultimately as customer needs arise operations may seek drivers to service this area.

Q: What is a typical work schedule and how often will I be home?
A: A typical work schedule would depend on the terminal assignment. The work schedules generally are where you leave out Sunday, Sunday night or Monday depending on your assigned load and the location of your first delivery. Naturally if you have a long trip say TX or FL you would have to leave early Sunday. Those trucks with their first delivery within a short distance from their home terminal could leave early Monday. The average radius for the fleet would be just over 500 miles where a reload and a return to your home terminal is likely within 2 ½ days. Sometimes you can take a break at home before you reload for your next trip. Those going on long trips won’t make it back to their home terminal until later in the week and they then can depending on hours available, run short runs. Most trucks are in on or before Saturday morning, some as early as Thursday night. If they get in late Saturday or early Sunday, the drivers can ask to run short for Monday to get your full 34 hours off to restart on your 70 hours.

Q: What speed are the trucks set to run?
A: The company truck speed is set at 68 mph.

Q: What types of trucks?
A: International ProStar, 226 inch wheelbase, 435 - 460 HP engines, Autoshift transmissions, walk-in sleepers, electric APU and power converters AND Mack Vision CX with 222 inch wheelbase with 10 speed transmissions walk-in sleepers and power converters.

Q: What types of trailers?
A: The majority of loads are on 48’ and 53’ dry vans. We offer some specialty trailers like drop decks, soft side drop decks, double drops and flatbeds on a limited basis.

Q: Can I take my assigned truck home?
A: Typically drivers are required to leave the truck at their assigned terminal with the exception of in route shipments with dispatch approval where you can take trucks home. If hired away from our terminal areas and in an active lane drivers are permitted to take trucks home providing they have a safe and proper parking area.

Q: How much will I make a mile and how do you determine paid miles?
A: Our maximum rate for mileage pay is 35 cents per odometer mile with three years experience. That's right, ODOMETER miles! You get paid for each and every authorized mile driven.

Q: Are drivers assigned to trucks?
A: Yes drivers are assigned to trucks. Slip seating only if we encounter breakdowns or equipment shortages.

Q: How are the trucks maintained?
A: If you drive out of our Fort Recovery, Ohio terminal the trucks are serviced while you are at home. If you drive out of another one of our facilities the maintenance is contracted to outside garages but, when possible, trucks are routed through Fort Recovery for quality service and maintenance.

Q: How much East coast?
A: Better than half of all loads go to the Eastern US. This area, although may not be popular to a lot of drivers, is a great area for getting your annual earnings well above our current average of $54,000.00. In fact you will see an earnings potential above $65,000 per year if you run the Eastern US. The Northeast region has premium stop-pay of $25.00 to $40.00 per stop. Areas traveled are repetitive, where we typically go into and out of the same customers every week where once you become familiar with these areas, accessing them becomes very easy. Drivers running the Eastern US needing a break can typically request runs to the South and West.

Q: How many stops per week and what is the stop pay?
A: We are a multi-stop carrier where drivers will do 8 to 12 stops per week in long haul or much more if running short trips. Each and every stop is paid from $10.00 to $40.00 depending on the geographical area of the stop. Generally the Northeastern States and Chicago are the higher dollar stops.

Q: How much driving experience do I need?
A: We require that you have at least 1 year of recent experience.

Q: Do I need to have Hazardous Materials endorsement on my CDL?
A: Yes we do require a Haz-Mat endorsement but for maintaining proper Haz-Mat credentials, you will be paid an additional ¼ of cent per mile for all miles driven. If you have not renewed your current Haz-Mat with the new TSA fingerprinting and background checks, the company will reimburse you the cost up to $94.00.

Q: Where can we fuel?
A: We use the Comdata system for fuel purchases. We have fuel agreements with Pilot and T/A but prefer as much fueling as possible to be done at our terminals.

Q: Do you have Pre-Pass/EZ-Pass?
A: Yes we have Pre-Pass Plus which work at all EZ-Pass tolls and Pre-Pass scale bypass programs.

Q: Is running toll roads permitted?
A: Yes, but drivers are expected to choose the safest shortest practical truck route and to avoid tolls wherever possible.

Q: Will I have to go to New York City?
A: Less than 2% of our shipments go into the boroughs of NYC. We have a large group of drivers that prefer to handle these shipments because we pay premium stop pay for all shipments into the NYC. Typically we are able to assign these shipments to drivers wanting to go however as customers demand we may ask drivers to handle these shipments for our customers.

Q: Can I idle my truck?
A: We believe that a driver should be comfortable when sleeping. Driver should limit idling whenever possible to keep the long term idle to a minimum and save fuel. We do track idle time on trucks and will follow up with drivers that habitually have above average idle time. We are currently testing several auxiliary heat/cool units and are hopeful to make this standard equipment on all future trucks.

Q: How much driver unloading do you have and how much will I be paid for doing it?
A: Currently less than 5% of all shipments require hand unload. We have a large customer that secures material handling equipment with blocks. For any driver that hand loads or unloads cargo or that blocks or unblocks material handling equipment, they are paid 80 cents per 1000 lbs in addition to stop pay. As an example, if you have a 40,000 lb shipment of material handling equipment, and knock out blocks and pull nails you will be paid an additional $32.00.

Q: Do you have a rider program?
A: Yes, we have a rider program for immediate family only available to drivers with at least 90-days of service and a satisfactory safety record. All riders must be pre-approved by the Safety Department.

Q: Is there a safety incentive program?
A: Yes, the program is designed to pay those drivers that are accident and injury free from a guaranteed cash pool each December. Past distributions have paid out in excess of $1,000.00 for qualifying drivers.

Q: How much vacation time do I get?
A: One week after 12-months of service paid at a rate of 1/52nd of your gross earnings from the prior year. Up to 4 weeks paid after 15 years of service. So as an example a driver earning $52,000.00 for a year will have a $1,000.00 vacation check for one year and $4,000.00 for 15 years.

Q: How many tickets can I have on my CDL?
A: To qualify, no more than 3 moving violations or serious violations in 36 months.

Q: Is there a sign on bonus?
A: Yes, currently we are paying $1,300.00 for all new hires.

Q: How does the company view safety?
A: Safety is our first priority. Drivers are required to attend at least one safety meeting per year which will be held at each of our terminals. Each accident, injury, highway inspection & moving violation is reviewed monthly where corrective action is determined. Hours of Service rules must be adhered to and is controlled and monitored by our in-house log auditing program. Safety bonus is paid annually to accident and injury free drivers that attend the required safety meeting. Safety awards are also provided.
